USGBC Finds Green Building to Support Nearly 8 Million U.S. Jobs Through 2013

Despite a challenging economic outlook, according to a new study from the U.S. Green Building Council and Booz Allen Hamilton, green building will support 7.9 million U.S. jobs and pump $554 billion into the American economy—including $396 billion in wages—between now and 2013. GCC Completes Successful Career Seminar at AASHE: GREENING OF THE CAMPUS VIII Conference

AASHE, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, held its 2009 conference in Indianapolis from September 20-23, in partnership with Ball State University. On Monday, Sept 21st, the Green Careers Center (GCC) did their part to ensure effective sustainability for the future by hosting a career seminar at the conference featuring panelists from various fields. John Esson, who heads the Hampton-based Green Careers Center, noted that someday "green" won't be used to describe environmentally friendly projects. Everything will be green.
